Borealis without a flame: black spruce, vetiver and cold air, drawn up eight black rattan reeds from a frosted smoke-blue bottle.
100 ml lasts roughly eight to ten weeks, depending on how warm the room is and how often you turn the reeds. Turn them once a week for more scent; fewer reeds for less.
The bottle has a narrow neck to slow evaporation. Not for use near a flame or heat source.
The product record
Everything we know about this product, stated plainly. The same record is printed on the card in the box.
- Made of
- Phthalate-free fragrance oil in a clear diffuser base. Frosted smoke-blue glass bottle with a brushed-brass collar. Eight black rattan reeds.
- Dimensions
- Bottle 2.4 × 2.4 × 4.1 in · reeds 9.8 in long
- Weight
- 100 ml (3.4 fl oz) · about 12 oz boxed
- Scent notes

- Finish & variation
- Frosted glass whose tint varies slightly between batches. The rattan reeds darken as they draw up the oil; that is how they work.
- Made
- Blended and bottled in small batches in Port Charlotte, Florida.
Care & burning
- Remove the shipping cap, put the reeds in, then flip them once after an hour so both ends are saturated.
- Turn the reeds about once a week. Replace them after a refill or if they stop drawing scent.
- Wipe up any drip straight away — the oil can mark varnished wood, painted surfaces and some plastics.
- Stand the bottle on a coaster or tray rather than directly on furniture.
Safety & cautions
- Combustible liquid. Keep away from flames, candles, stoves and heaters.
- Not for skin and not to be swallowed. Keep out of reach of children and pets; the reeds and bottle are not toys.
- If swallowed, do not induce vomiting — contact Poison Control (1-800-222-1222) or a doctor. If in eyes, rinse with water for several minutes.
- Do not place it where it can be knocked over, or on finished wood, marble or plastic without a coaster.
- Ships by ground service only — see the shipping policy.
